Our Mission

Street Mission is a 100% volunteer-based charity operating on the Northern Beaches of Sydney. Our goal is to bridge the gap in existing community services to support the needs of disadvantaged people by providing food, linkages to other charities, listening over a meal and offering new experiences that may change lives.


Our Volunteers

Our Committee


Alan Clarke – Founder and Life Member

“I came to Australia from England in 1986. Life has been kind to me, and 14 years ago I decided that I wanted to put something back in. I started Street Mission in 1998, and have loved the opportunity to meet a wide range of people in the community, both the less fortunate and the fortunate. I believe that Street Mission has made a positive difference to our community”.

Lynette Favelle – President

Lyn is has been President of Street Mission since September 2013 and was previously Secretary. She has been volunteering at the Dee Why café since August 2009. She started her career with over ten years in engineering, eventually studying IT and moving to roles in that discipline. She has spent fifteen years in IT management in roles ranging from Infrastructure, Development and General Management as well as a stint in consulting. Much of her IT experience has been in implementing technology that introduces change through process improvement and improved business efficiency. Lyn is now an independent IT Consultant in the NFP sector.

Bianca Xerri – Vice President

Bianca has been a volunteer at Street Mission cafes since 2016. In October 2017, she became our Social Media Coordinator and manages our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts. Bianca is a lawyer working in the Financial Services industry and has held various roles within the legal, risk and compliance sector. Bianca is passionate about wellbeing, and teaches group fitness outside of her day-to-day job.

Lata Wilkinson – Treasurer

Lata has been involved with Street Mission as a volunteer for a number of years. Lata assumed the role of Treasurer in 2019 after acting as the Vice-President and Fundraising Co-Ordinator.

Julie Bullock – Secretary

Julie was appointed as Secretary in August 2017, and has been a volunteer at both the Balgowlah and Dee Why Street Mission Cafes. Prior to volunteering at Street Mission, Julie was the financial manager of a Sydney based construction company. She has lived in Vietnam where she was worked for a large accounting firm before returning to Sydney to have her children and resume working in the financial services industry. Julie currently works in the NFP sector.

Cinzia Tisano – Committee Member & Volunteer Coordinator

Cinzia joined the Street Mission committee as Volunteer Coordinator in 2019 and is a regular volunteer at our Dee Why café.

Dave Lovell – Committee Member & Social Media Coordinator

Dave has been a volunteer at Street Mission Dee Why cafe since 2013. In July 2020, he joined the Street Mission committee and became our Social Media Coordinator. Dave works in the technology industry and has held marketing leadership roles across Australia, Asia, and the UK. Dave is passionate about seeing people reach their potential and helping those in need.
